The Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition, Inc. (AHRC) is a community-based, wellness organization committed to improving the overall health and wellbeing of marginalized individuals and communities. Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition provides education, risk reduction programs through partnership programs, empowerment to adults, and diagnosis and treatment of substance use, HIV/, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), viral Hepatitis, and other communicable diseases. Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition, INC is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join its team. Job description is provided below. Please send resume along with cover letter to [email protected] Job Description for Staff Accountant: The Staff Accountant provides financial information to the Executive Director by researching and analyzing accounts as well as preparing financial statements. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board on all financial transactions and reporting. This is a Part-Time Position. Minimum Requirements: 1.Skills/Knowledge: · Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments. · Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data. · Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information. Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts. · Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts. · Implements grant allocations for incoming funds · Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes. · Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. · Provides accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; converting data to general ledger system; obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements. · Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the organization and the board. · Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. · Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. · Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed. · Proficient in reporting Skills, Time Management, Attention to Detail, PC Proficiency, and Productivity · Detail-oriented · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Proficient in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks 2. Experience/Education: · Masters in Business, Accounting, and/or Finance; 2 years of qualified experience; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position · Experience in grant allocation · Experience working for non-profit organization and/or health care facility Hours and Salary TBD at the interview.
