Accountant Job in Atlanta, Georgia

Controller/Accounting Manager - Restaurant exp. (Potential for Home Office) We are seeking a Controller/Accounting Manager for a restaurant group in the Atlanta market. This role would be considered part time and we expect it to consume 25-30 hours per week. We would prefer people with experience in the restaurant industry that are accustomed to restaurant accounting. The successful candidates responsibilities would include: • maintenance and reconciliation of all general ledger activity • manage A/P and A/R to include all bill payments • cash flow management and assistance with forecasting • daily bank account monitoring, fraud monitoring, and cash management • reconciliation of banking, merchant, and vendor accounts • worker's Compensation account management • benefits administration for corporate payroll • preparation of fiscal period financial reporting (P&L's, Balance Sheets, etc) for review by CEO/Owners • provide support and coordinate with management staff to assure accuracy in store-level office functions • facilitate unit-level reconciliation process among store locations and corporate accounting department • monitor and develop internal controls to maintain/improve efficiency/accuracy • assist with compliance on federal/local permitting, reporting and licensing requirements • manage in-house payroll process, including responsibility for all semi-weekly deposits and quarterly/annual filings from all State/Federal regulatory agencies, preparation of EOY W2's, new-hire reporting and employee garnishments • maintain state and federal reporting requirements for business Must have knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Must have ability to work independently, to identify key issues, and to communicate with senior management. Should have strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail. Proficiency in Quickbooks and Excel is a necessary. Experience with payroll processing systems is a must. This position maintains an overall responsibility for all current and future financial affairs for the company.
