Project Accountant Location: Everett, WA Employer: ResCare Inc. (Employment Security Department Partner) Immediate Opening Job Description • Responsible for tracking, analyzing and reporting project financial status. • May supervise financial and accounting staff if applicable, ensuring that procedures and policies are in place to facilitate effective and efficient financial reporting compliant with local, state and corporate policies. • Performs monthly close process for project to include revenue and expense entries and review of the project's balance sheet. • Prepares bank reconciliations • Monitors activity to ensure accounting policies, procedures and plans are properly executed • Develops, prepares and supports annual budgets • Provides actual vs budget analysis to include forecasting of fund availability • Directs fiscal operations relating to financial planning, funds management, accounting, reporting and disbursement. • Other responsibilities include monthly general ledger reporting for all operating expenses including payroll and capital expense, monthly projection, annual budget and annual audit. • Extensive sitting, computer, phone, and deskwork required; work primarily in a defined office environment with specified hours, although flexible hours including overtime may be required • Interacts one on one and in groups with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. • Travel may be required. Requirements • 2 years' experience in accounting including forecasting, month end/closing and AR/AP. • Proficient computer skills and ability to use general office equipment. • The Project Accountant must have demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), be able to interpret balance sheets and profit/loss reports, and write and implement financial management policies and procedures. • The PA must be able to budget and forecast across multiple funding streams and communicate the contract's financial position. • The PA must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills strong organizational skills and the ability to work across all levels of management and staff. • Bachelor's Degree or higher in business, accounting, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
