You can be part of building a great organization by helping kids!! Who you are: A Senior Accountant seeking an exciting and challenging opportunity. You are a skilled accounting operator looking to leverage your experience and take ownership. What you'll do: In this role you will be the primary "doer" on day-to-day accounting and finance operations. The successful candidate should be comfortable as an accounting generalist, demonstrating familiarity with accrual concepts and experience as a bookkeeper. The responsibilities below are representative, but not exhaustive: we need someone flexible enough to handle multiple tasks at once. • Completely, consistently and accurately account for the following, including reconciliations: --- Cash transactions --- E-commerce / credit card transactions --- Batched disbursements --- Typical vendor transactions --- Customer billing and collections • Monitor cash flows and own cash flow reporting, including processing disbursements and recording inflows • Monthly and annual close processes, reconciliations, etc. • Lead annual audit and tax engagements • Own the creation and enforcement of accounting and expense-related policies and procedures • Lead corporate administration functions (including facilities, insurance, taxes, etc.) • Own HR-related processing, including payroll • Lead and/or assist with implementations, customizations and conversions of various systems, as needed. In addition, the required suite of knowledge, skill, education, and experience in the ideal candidate are as follows: • BS in Accounting (MS a plus) • 4-6 years of progressive and operational accounting experience • Experience in software-as-a-service, e-commerce, marketplace or high-volume business models • Operationally comfortable with GAAP (CPA a plus) • Experience in QuickBooks a must • Competent Excel user • Comfortable operating at a startup pace • Strong, proactive communication skills, both written and verbal • Appreciation for both accuracy and form of deliverables • Impeccable organization skills • Team-first mentality.
