Controller/Accounting Manager Management 1. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures 2. Manage outsourced functions 3. Oversee operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives 4. Ensure accounts payable invoices are entered accurately 5. Ensure all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable 6. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner 7. Ensure required debt payments are made on a timely basis 8. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system 9. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions 10. Maintain and monitor accounting system integrity and backups Transactions 1. Process client billings on a regular basis 2. Collect accounts receivable promptly 3. Post Daily cash receipts 4. Maintain the chart of accounts 5. Setup new client accounts in accounting system 6. Setup new projects in accounting system 7. Input cost codes into projects 8. Input Change Orders 9. Backup Support for Purchasing, Service Billing., Accounts Payable, Payroll 10. Create Adjusting Journal entries in General Ledger, Job Cost, and Service Billing Modules 11. Perform special accounting projects and requests when necessary 12. Compile, process, and produce monthly financial data for external organizations Reporting 1. Issue timely and complete financial statements monthly 2. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual review with CPA 3. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations 4. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics 5. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts 6. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management 7. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations Compliance 1. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors when necessary 2. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants 3. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Desired Qualifications: The Controller/Accounting Manager candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience, and 3 years of progressively responsible experience for a medium sized construction and or electrical contractor. Experience working with the Construction Partner Accounting System a plus, proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent oral, written, and communication skills also required. Experience working for a government general contractor also a big plus. We have excellent health benefit plans including, medical, dental, vision, and life insurances along with a 401k plan.
