Our client is a fast growing pre-IPO software company that is looking for a Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting to help take them to the next level. Position Summary The Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting reports to the VP of Finance and is responsible for the quarterly and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations. Also responsible for working with our tax accountants in providing backup for the preparation of company income tax returns. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Research and advise on GAAP issues; remain current on accounting pronouncements, determine the effects on the Company's current reporting; and communicate to the appropriate personnel. • Coordinate the preparation of audit and tax schedules. • Be the Company liaison with the external auditors and professional tax accountants. • Prepare external financial statements including quarterly 10-Q reporting, annual reports and 10-K, Annual Proxy statement and reports to regulatory agencies. • Maintain XBRL taxonomy and tagging accuracy. • Responsible for assigned areas in preparation of various monthly reports to senior management, Board of Directors and other internal parties. • Maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. • Assist in the preparation and review of internal monthly reporting packages. • Provide support to VP, Finance in compiling accounting information, including: - Assist with the month-end close process - Enter monthly journal entries for Corporate entity and affiliates - Research and resolve assigned closing issues • Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned. Desired Skills & Experience The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • 4 years of public accounting experience with a Big Four accounting firm • Knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures, including U.S. GAAP • Knowledge of related regulatory requirements and SEC guidelines • Highly motivated and goal-oriented individual • Effective written and oral communication skills • Ability to work independently and with a team in fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness • Ability to solve problems using critical thinking skills • Proficient in Excel and Word • Experience with Intacct a plus Desired Education & Certification • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required; MBA or advanced degree in accounting is preferred • CPA designation
