Accountant Job in Petaluma, California

We are looking for candidates who are: • Aware, committed and passionate about social and environmental issues • Adaptable and flexible -- folks who do well in unstructured environments • Collaborative and self-motivated • Highly competent and able to execute tasks very well This position is full time and located in Petaluma, Ca. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: General Ledger Accounting • Prepare month end closing activities -- closing out credit memos, bad debts, accruals, prepaids, etc • Calculate partner commissions and customer rebates • Assist with ad hoc projects assignment by Finance management as needed Accounts Receivable • Post Bank deposits & Credit Card transactions after reviewing for accuracy • Reclassify customer chargeback clearing account • Audit customer credits, deductions, and chargebacks • Follow up on past dues including making collection calls • Respond to customer inquiries regarding payments and invoices • Send monthly statements to customers as needed • Conduct new customer credit reference checks Accounts Payable • Verify and enter invoices • Review and approve expense reports • Responsible for weekly check run • Work with Logistics team in auditing shipping invoices • Fill out and mail annual 1099 to vendors Experience & Skill Set Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Accounting • Solid understanding of US GAAP • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Knowledge of NetSuite a plus • Strong attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation & Benefits World Centric offers a competitive salary and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K.
