Job Summary: The successful candidate will be required to prepare tax returns and provide bookkeeping services to 1-800accountant clients. He or she will work closely with senior level accountants to ensure all the client’s tax and bookkeeping needs are met. The successful candidate will be required to assist senior level accountants in managing a portfolio of clients. This will include interacting with clients over the telephone, providing tax consultation, and resolving client concerns. Performance is measured on both productivity (quality and timeliness of completing returns, etc.), and on client relationship management. Job Duties: Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Preparation of individual (1040) and business tax returns (1120s, 1165) and associated schedules. 2. Meet or exceed all productivity deadlines, goals, and established client or management expectations 3. Preparation of client’s financial statements using QuickBooks. 4. Provide tax consulting to individuals and small businesses over the telephone. 5. Help clients minimize their tax liabilities. 6. Assists clients during audits and other related inquiries 7. Facilitate client meetings via telephone as directed by manager. 8. Keeps up to date on tax laws and current developments in tax area. 9. All other responsibilities or duties as assigned by management. Background: The successful candidate will have proven the required technical and relationship management skills by demonstrating a prior history of meeting or exceeding the expectations set forth in the Job Duties section of this document. This individual must also meet the following requirements: 1. BA or BS in Accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 2. Two years’ experience preparing personal and corporate tax returns 3. Must hold an EA license, a CPA certification, or be a candidate for either 4. Must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets, tax preparation and bookkeeping software, etc. Prior experience using Lacerte is a plus 5. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively present information over the telephone. Critical Competencies: 1. Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments, aligns behavior and actions with the vision and culture of the organization.
